DarkSky Oregon is an important part of the bigger picture that is DarkSky International. Losing the quality of the night sky isn't just an Oregon issue... it's a global issue. Your membership is necessary to expand outreach and advocate for dark skies.To join DarkSky Oregon, please go to the DarkSky International Member page. As an DarkSky International member, you will automatically be included as a member in DarkSky Oregon Chapter.

Volunteer
DarkSky Oregon is 100% volunteer-driven. We value the dark sky and are concerned enough to do something about it. Maybe you would like to volunteer to help in our quest to protect Oregon's dark skies?Some volunteer opportunities could include participation on one of these committees:
Finance
Business operations and maintenance
Social media communications
International Dark-Sky Places
Lighting codes/policies; sky quality monitoring
Good Light Neighbor program
Dark sky education outreach
Public speaking/public outreach events

Become a Community and Citizen Scientist by
Participating in the free dark sky measurement Globe at Night program.
Downloading the free Loss of the Night app on your smartphone. and taking sky quality readings that are used in mapping and trend analyses.
Contributing the most accurate, quantitative night sky quality data by buying and applying a Unihedron Sky Quality Meter (SQM).
Make a donation
DarkSky Oregon is an independent Chapter of DarkSky International. We are responsible for our own financing. Your donation will support educational outreach, technical measurements, research studies and dark sky place designations in Oregon. All of these together will support our mission to protect the night skies of Oregon from light pollution. We are a non-profit with 501(c)3 status. Your donations are tax-deductible.
